According to a report in Variety, Nicole Kidman is "in talks" to play former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson in a yet-to-be-titled Annapurna film about the women who brought down Fox News titan Roger Ailes.

She isn't the only A-list, Oscar-nominated actress joining the projects. Margot Robbie is rumored to be in talks to portray one of the other women who came forward with stories of abuse at the network. Both actresses would join Charlize Theron, who is confirmed to be playing former Fox News correspondent (now at NBC) Megyn Kelly.

Jay Roach (Meet the Parents) is set to direct, and the script is being handled by The Big Short's Charles Randolph. It will delve into how these conservative women rallied against the systemic abuse at a network where several high-ranking men, like Bill O'Reily, were given free reign to harass and assault women with the threat of ruining their careers.

This news couldn't come at a more relevant time. The allegations against CBS chief Les Moonves have gone to show once again how powerful men at the head of a company create work environments where harassment and assault are the norm.

Hollywood actresses were among the early voices who forced the world to finally start listening about widespread systemic abuse against women. Hopefully a dramatization of one such incident will continue to inspire society to demand a real change.
